It started last Thursday. A rather curious pain in my right side. It progressively got worse and while at work Friday afternoon, I was ordered down to A&E as the pain was getting unbearable.
I was quickly rushed through A&E (and not because I work there) and I was prepped for emergency surgery to have my appendix removed. I panicked quite a lot and quickly rang my mum, my boyfriend and my boss. By the time I was all sorted out it was quite late and so they decided on surgery in the morning, Saturday morning.
I had my appendix out and there were no complications. I did however have a major reaction to the painkiller Tramadol, which made me vomit, raised my blood pressure and gave me an abnormal pulse.
Now, I’m back home. Driving myself nuts by do nothing. All I seem to be doing is waking up, eating, walking around a bit and then sleeping again.
With any luck I’ll be having my stitches out on Monday and back to work on Tuesday. We’ll see what the doctor says…
